High fructose corn syrup (HFCS). The single most dastardly ingredient to infect our foods since the inception of time. O.K. Maybe I’m exaggerating a little. But maybe not.
This new section of my blog won’t be about the evils of HFCS. It’s going to be a list of all the foods I find containing it. I’ve been watching for a while now and guess what? It’s everywhere. If you’re not careful you could be eating this garbage all the time!
I’ll start out with a classic food that people have been eating since the dawn of time. Rice Krispies. That’s right. On the side of the box, Kellogs lets us know that . . .
A magical day begins with a balanced breakfast . . . cereals are made from a variety of grains which provide carbohydrates for energy. A serving of cereal as part of your breakfast keeps you from running on empty. Plus, you’ll get vitamins and minerals that help you grow up healthy.
They simply fail to mention that this particular cereal will do much to contribute to obesity and diabetes.
So, next time you’re thinking of pouring a bowl of Rice Krispies for your child – think again.

People work so hard to make their lives significant. Fame, wealth, status . . . but does any of it really matter?
Without Jesus, we’re nothing but broken people. And when we reach that conclusion, Jesus will be there waiting for us.

This poem reminds us that nothing the world can offer provides true fulfillment. Sure, drugs will cover pain for a short while. Sex can make us feel loved and happy – temporarily. Psychologists provide advice on how to be happy. Oprah tells us what to do to be successful. Movies, the Internet, music, video games, careers . . . the list of temporary fixes goes on forever.
But there is only one true source of fulfillment and that is Jesus Christ.

O.K. I should have posted this back around Easter, when Mike sent it to me, but I’m not that fast. Sorry.
Anyway, this poem reminds us of the significance of the holiday we call Easter. It really has squat to do with the frivolities (bunnies, eggs) associated with it in our society.
Check out this cool poem by Mike:

Also, don’t forget to check out Mike’s new site . . . Anglican Rhymes. Very cool.

This is an amazing poem.
The author states his purpose in the opening stanza:
When I first heard the gospel news,
It was revealed to me,
Why Jesus Christ came to this earth,
To die to set us free.
I’d like to share this news with you,
Why the Lord Jesus came,
So you can have this free gift too,
When you call upon his name.
For those of you who don’t know the story of Jesus Christ and what He did for you and me, this poem will lead you in the right direction.

A poem about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
It’s easy to forget what Jesus did for us. And it’s easy to diminish his pain. He created us; He gave us life and everything good that goes along with it. Then, his own creation turned against him. His own creation murdered him in cold blood.
Imagine, for a moment, your child turning against you. You did all you could for him. You gave him food, shelter and love. Yet, now, he hates you – without reason. He wants to kill you. Imagine how that would feel.

As a new ager (reiki master, chakra balancer, energy healer, angel energy healer, wizard, sorcerer) Mary considered herself and expert in all things spiritual. Then Jesus Christ came along and opened her eyes to the truth. She began to understand how completely Satan had deceived her.

It’s not often we see a poem that encapsulates the gospel so neatly. Cindy’s poem does so.

There has been a surge in recent years of a belief in what is known theologically as partial preterism. Preterists teach that Christ returned in 70 A.D. and fulfilled all of the prophecies of the Olivet Discourse and Revelation. Partial preterists believe that most of the prophecies of the Olivet Discourse and Revelation had their fulfillment in 70 A.D., but that there is still a future coming of Christ at the end of the age.
So what are we to make of preterism and partial preterism? Is there any validity to this belief?
Find out what we think.

Karinne lost her mother to cancer. During the ordeal she became angry with God. Why had He taken her mother?
She soon discovered that God has ways of letting us know that He still cares about us, even when we’re struggling with life’s challenges. He often shows us His love in surprising ways.
Read Karinne’s testimony and be blessed.
