I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 16 years old. I had to take medication to control the seizures but it seemed like the neurologist couldn’t find a medicine that would control it. At times I felt like there wasn’t any hope and I would have to take medication the rest of my life. Then one night at home I noticed a picture of Jesus Christ hanging on the living room wall and I thought about how he died for me on the cross. He gave his own life. So I stopped looking down and started looking up after that. Before I went to sleep I got down on my knees and began to pray. It had been ten years since that night now and I was still having seizures but I didn’t lose my faith in God–I prayed even more. I know my family and friends were praying too and I had already been through several accidents due to the siezures but I thanked God for watching me through it all. I would never have made it through many of them by my own strength I know. Well, it was on March 14, 2001, when I had brain surgery. I haven’t had any problems since that day and I thank God each day and believe more and more what the Lord can do if you have faith in him.
All the glory to God Randy! God bless you from now on till His Kingdom come!
My nephew who is almost 14 has seizures since he was born. His skull was crushed during delivery. He died twice shortly after being born. Today at nearly 14 he still has seizures and speak issues. He’s very interested in knowing more about Jesus. Please pray for complete healing for this young man. We love him dearly. His name is Tyler.
Thank you for sharing your story!
God Bless!
It’s awesome that you had faith in God despite your seizures and chose to keep your eyes focused on Him! Praise God you don’t suffer any more seizures – God bless!
