What is all spiky
With shuffling feet
Wanders your garden
For something to eat
Comes out at night
With their needs to complete
What can it possibly be.
A hedgehog is okay
Till it gets a fright
Curls in a ball
To protect it’s new plight
A kind of a mask
That it wears out of fear
Rather like you and me.
We get all spiky
When people get close
Preferring an alias
To keep on our toes
Let’s hope The Spirit
Will help us be real
Facing the world as we are.
A Christian poem by: Mike Bullock
I don’t want to be a hedgehog!
I love hedgehogs. as a child I was always nick named ‘hedgehog’, so I feel the poem is quite fitting for me! Great!
I adore hedgehogs and my nickname has always been ‘hedgehog’ so I loved the poem!!!
The beautiful thing about hedgehogs is that the more they are held (loved), the less they curl up. Go out and love those spikey people in your life. 😊
