I’ve made a resolution
I think you’ll be impressed
I’m going to take a step of faith
And slowly get undressed
Removing things that I’ve accrued
The baggage I’ve amassed
The trappings gained from sources wide
The weight of which is vast.
Underneath this bulging mass
There lies a simple soul
Simple walk, a simple faith
That’s always been my goal
I’ve tried to do it many ways
The do’s and don’ts are rife
But I am who I am, you see
An individual life.
So back to basics I will go
And get to know my Dad
A personal relationship
Is ready to be had
I’ve messed around these many years
And dropped out of the race
A simple walk, a simple faith
I need to seek His face.
