We’ve all heard about the unpardonable sin. And we’ve all probably had questions about it. What exactly is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? Here’s a little excerpt from our new article:
If cursing the Holy Spirit was the unpardonable sin Jesus spoke about, then many of us would have no hope of Christ. While among scholars there is a great deal of debate as to what constitutes the “blasphemy of the Holy Spirit” spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 12:31-32, Mark 3:28-30, and Luke 12:10, I believe it certainly means . . .
Find out what we think it means by reading The Unpardonable Sin.
well i dont know i agree, i dont think to curse the holyspirit is blasphemy of the holyspirit jesus was refering to. I dont think its the unpardonable blasphemy to cuss out the person of the holyspirit b.c. he is God but when we call him evil or say his powers are evil we are crosing a line. The weird thing is that the bible says that Jesus didnt come to the world to condemn the world, correct? so if we ask Jesus to forgive us for cursing the holyspirit out would there be and exception to: if we confess our sins he is faithfull and just the forgive us our sins and cleans us from all unrigshesnes.

The passage in John 6:67-68 comes to my mind. When the multitude of those who followed Christ turned away, Jesus asked the twelve if they also would leave. Peter said: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
My encouragement to you is this. What is your alternative to pursuing a life with Jesus Christ? He is your only hope. We all throw ourselves on His mercy and place our hope fully in Him. As the Apostle Paul stated, we want to be found in Him, not having our own righteousness, but being clothed fully in His righteousness (Philippians 3:9). He did not come into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world.
The fact that you still desire to be right with Him is powerful evidence that God has not written you off. The Holy Spirit is still at work in your life. He has not abandoned you, but the Holy Spirit is moving your spirit to desire to be right with God.
Pursue God, study Scripture, focus on Jesus, pray for others, and do good to all. You will find that if you focus on these things, your concern over the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit will be replaced by a personal, vital, and rewarding relationship with the God of all of the universe.
We are praying for you.
I cursed the HOly Spirit, I said F*** him and D*** him. Some good news on this page. Hope you’re right. Hope it isn’t another form of blasphemy.
We do not think it is! Rather, the return to Christ and serving Him is always what delights the Father. No passage on blaspheming the Spirit can change the eternal character of the Father and of His Son and Spirit. They take joy in the return of each of us. May you find the grace and peace and presence of the Spirit in your life.
