Are the words “talitha cumi” related to the resurrection of Jesus Christ? This is a question sent in by a reader who felt that they found a connection between the words “talitha cumi” and the words, “dew,” “fresh,” and “third day.” Here’s what we think.
It’s a lot easier to accuse someone else of being evil rather than looking at our own sin.
Sometimes, a personal relationship with another human can get in the way of our relationship with God. When that happens, it’s best to simply move on (if you’re married it’s a different story). Leaving someone is never easy, but in the long run, our relationship with our heavenly Father is the one that really matters.
We are all human. We all have doubts and fears. At times we may even doubt our salvation. Satan has many devices in his arsenal with which to deceive us–friends, dreams, television, books, the Internet–even so-called spiritual leaders. If we begin to doubt whether or not we’re truly saved, we need to clear our minds and go back to Scripture and see what it says.
We all are lost in our sin. We all deserve death. But we have been ransomed by the Jesus of the Bible. Our chains have been loosed. Sin has no more power over us. Read Chris’s poem by clicking the link below.
Many feel as though they’ve sinned too much to ever make it to heaven. Or they feel they’ve committed the unpardonable sin. They worry and worry and worry that they’ll spend eternity in the fires of hell. What does the Bible teach about this? Can the enormity of our sins keep us out of heaven? My life is falling apart. I was a drug addict for 12 years. I lost it all, even my children and my home. Prior to that, I was part of a violent marriage that ended when my husband went to jail for nearly killing me. Jesus healed me from drug addiction five years ago but I cannot seem to get close to Him. It’s like trying to talk to a brick wall. I recently lost my mom. My life went from bad to worse. I have no friends and my sisters could care less about me. My body is weak from all the drug abuse. My car is broken down and I have no money to fix it. This may be a small thing but it feels like the last straw. What can I do to get close to Jesus? I don’t read my Bible because my mind races and I cannot concentrate. But I know Jesus is the only answer. I’m stuck.

Here we have a thought-provoking Christian poem called First Time, and ironically it’s also the first time Ben has ever submitted a poem to us! It really made me think about God’s feelings as He watches over us and waits for us from the moment of conception. How must it make Him feel when He has so much to give us and we decide to ignore Him? How would it feel if my own daughter rejected me? Anyway, these are the thoughts I had as I was reading the poem. Being in the military has its benefits, but for Sparky, the benefits were far outweighed by the mental anguish he suffered. After 15 years in the military, he decided he wanted to take his own life. Find out how God spared him. Click the link below to read Sparky’s testimony.
We got a question a while back about how much the 30 pieces of silver Judas received to betray Jesus would be worth in today’s currency. We answered it, then another person wrote us to ask us how we could have possibly come up with the answer we did. Well, here’s our answer to how we came up with our answer!
