Hi All,

Recently (well, not so recently actually), someone asked us what we thought of the concept of an eternal hell. Is eternal torment for the wicked supported in Scripture?
As many have pointed out, the destiny of the wicked is one of the hardest teachings for us humans. We shrink back, and rightly so, from the idea of eternal torment. As you point out, God, who is more merciful than us, would seemingly have even a stronger reaction to such a notion.
A reader recently asked us what it looks like when demons or evil spirits inhabit someone’s body. Here’s Tim’s answer.
It’s a subject people seem to really like to debate—baptism. Here are a few thoughts on why we believe that the act of baptism doesn’t save us.
What happens when we sin too much and for too long? Does God forget about us? Do we lose our chance at salvation? Can we still be forgiven?
I am Hindu by birth. Like all Hindus my family used to worship idols, but I believe in Jesus. My family knows it, and they scold me often, but I know Jesus has helped me in many ways. Still, I am not faithful to him. He is the living God yet I have never met Him. Let me see Him and be confirmed He is the true living God, or it would be the same as the Hindu gods. Let me tell my family that Jesus is real and that I have met Him.
We can’t even begin to tell you how many people have contacted us thinking they’ve committed the unpardonable sin. So many people feel that their hearts are hardened, that they’ve lost the Holy Spirit, that there’s no hope for them any longer . . .
We have one thing to say about this. If you want to return to God, He will accept you. Your heart isn’t too hard. You haven’t gone too far.
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.
John 6:37 (ESV)
A reader (not so recently) sent in the following questions:
Why did Satan want Moses’ body? Why did God hide his body? If the body is destroyed (burned or lost due to other reasons) will this be a concern as far as bodily resurrection is concerned? Lastly, what about cremation today? Will this be a hindrance come the day of resurrection?

Here’s a recent question.
I’ve heard that you cannot earn God’s favor through actions, but that it is by faith alone. I have heard people say, “it’s impossible to live the Christian life” or “you can’t keep the law.” That’s why we need Jesus to live this new life through us. Yet, we are also commanded to repent, which is an action, a choice I must make. If my actions are ultimately futile and don’t earn favor, then how am I supposed to repent?
Check out Tim’s answer.
Will Christians have to experience the tribulation? This is a topic that’s been discussed quite a bit on the site. Use the search function and do a search for the word “tribulation” and you’ll find a lot. But just tonight I found this article in my archives. Tim wrote it back in February of 2012 and I thought it would be a worthy addition to the site.
