Pre-Tribulation Rapture

We believe in a pre-tribulation rapture because we believe that’s what the Bible teaches.

Do we believe in a pre-tribulation rapture because we’re afraid of suffering? No. Well, we don’t really want to suffer, and that would be a scary thing, but we believe in a pre-tribulation rapture because that’s what we think Scripture teaches.

God Has Abandoned Me

Trusting in Jesus is no guarantee that tragedy will never strike.

A site reader sent us a plea for prayer. She’d already lost one of her sons to a heart condition and now her current son is on drugs and suicidal. Some people suffer greatly even though they trust in the Jesus of the Bible. Trusting in Jesus is not a guarantee that tragedy will never strike. Scripture is replete with examples of saints who lived with constant pain and grief. So how should a Christian deal with suffering?

God Has Abandoned Me

John’s Christian Testimony

When God wants to get our attention, He’ll do so—in astonishing ways. Check out John’s testimony.

John, like Israel in the Old Testament, had a bad habit of forgetting that God was there for him. Even when God performed an unquestionable miracle in John’s life, he continued running from God. But God’s patience and persistence typically outlasts our stubbornness, as it did in this case.

Jeremiah’s Christian Testimony

Homosexuality, drug addiction, abuse . . . God loves to deliver people from all such evils.

It’s hard to describe what Jeremiah’s been through. Here’s an excerpt from his story:

We don’t realize that sex can be an drug as well as an addiction and it became an addiction for me too. I used it in search of love and just to feel safe and fit in with others. I sold my soul and body to the flames of same sex relationships and they grew to where I couldn’t even go to sleep at night for guys knocking at my door.

Chris’s Christian Testimony

Chris was into drugs, sex, partying—you name it. He became depressed and attempted suicide . . .

Another amazing testimony of the mercy and love of Jesus Christ. Chris tried everything. Partying. Night life. Drugs. Sex. Then depression struck and Chris hit rock bottom when he attempted suicide by purposefully crashing his vehicle.

Blasphemy

If you think you’ve committed the unpardonable sin, you probably haven’t.

Many Christians mistakenly fear that they’ve committed the unpardonable sin—blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. But would the Holy Spirit be convicting a believer of sin if they had committed blasphemy? No. The Holy Spirit would not even be at work in that person’s life. As Tim puts it, “My quick answer is that if you think you have [committed blasphemy], then you haven’t.”

Mary’s Lineage

Was Mary a direct descendant of David?

Mary’s lineage has long been disputed. Some say she’s a direct descendant of David, because Jesus was to be of David’s lineage. Others say that Jesus was a descendant of David because Joseph was of the lineage of David. But Peter says (quoting Psalm 132:11) that Jesus was to come from the fruit of David’s body. And some say Mary was a Levite because she was related to Elizabeth. What’s really going on?
