Be Sure of Your Salvation

We don’t have to wonder if we’re saved. We can have assurance of our salvation.

Here’s a question that was recently sent in by a site visitor:

How can I be sure of my salvation? I have confessed Jesus to people I know and was baptized. I told my family members about Jesus because the Bible says to confess him before men. How can I be sure that I am still saved or ever was?

The little book of 1 John has a lot to say about this topic. And guess what? This is not something we have to wonder about.

Be Sure of Your Salvation

Hebrews 10:26 – Can Salvation be Lost?

Hebrews 10:26 sounds scary. Can Christians really lose their salvation?

26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.
Hebrews 10:26, 27

This verse makes a lot of people nervous. Can a Christian really lose his or her salvation? What does it mean, “there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins”? The “adveraries” – who are they? Find out what we think of this passage.

Jesus Changed Me

From Mr. Popular to drug addict to D.J. to Jesus – Sam’s amazing journey to Christ.

Another amazing story has recently hit our inbox.

Sam was an athlete in high school and college and enjoyed being popular and in the limelight. But as these situations often go, Sam didn’t become a professional athlete – instead he became a drug addict.

Find out how God brought someone into his life (like He did for me) to speak the truth to him and get him on the right track.

From Atheist to Believer

From Atheist to Believer – a hard-core atheist and miserable drug addict turns to Jesus.

I recently received this moving story from Shawn. He lived a life full of pain and regret. He was a hard-core atheist and fully addicted to drugs. He spent years of his life wallowing in misery and depression. Find out how God freed him from all of it.

One detail that might go unnoticed in this story really struck me. As Shawn lived in a hotel for months on end, he threw a Bible away a number of times. Every time he came back to his room the maid had taken it out of the trash and put it on his bed or nightstand. We don’t know that maid’s name or anything about her. What we know is that her commitment to pulling that Bible out of the trash ultimately saved Shawn’s life.

Let her example encourage you to listen to Jesus today.

Broken

When we realize that all life’s treasures can’t provide fulfillment, we’re ready for Jesus. A powerful poem.

People work so hard to make their lives significant. Fame, wealth, status . . . but does any of it really matter?

Without Jesus, we’re nothing but broken people. And when we reach that conclusion, Jesus will be there waiting for us.

Broken

No Substitute

Potions, pills, religions, cults-they provide temporary fixes to mend lives filled with pain & loss. But there’s only one true fix.

This poem reminds us that nothing the world can offer provides true fulfillment. Sure, drugs will cover pain for a short while. Sex can make us feel loved and happy – temporarily. Psychologists provide advice on how to be happy. Oprah tells us what to do to be successful. Movies, the Internet, music, video games, careers . . . the list of temporary fixes goes on forever.

But there is only one true source of fulfillment and that is Jesus Christ.

No Substitute

Mushrooms

This poem reminds us of the significance of Easter (yes, I know it’s a bit late); it’s about Jesus!

O.K. I should have posted this back around Easter, when Mike sent it to me, but I’m not that fast. Sorry.

Anyway, this poem reminds us of the significance of the holiday we call Easter. It really has squat to do with the frivolities (bunnies, eggs) associated with it in our society.

God’s Gift

If you don’t know Jesus, this poem will tell you about the gift he offers to us – eternal life.

This is an amazing poem.

The author states his purpose in the opening stanza:

When I first heard the gospel news,
It was revealed to me,
Why Jesus Christ came to this earth,
To die to set us free.
I’d like to share this news with you,
Why the Lord Jesus came,
So you can have this free gift too,
When you call upon his name.

For those of you who don’t know the story of Jesus Christ and what He did for you and me, this poem will lead you in the right direction.
