The Bible says we’re saved by faith. But then James says that without works, our faith is dead. So then, are we saved by faith and works both?
Are We Saved by Faith? Or Works? Or Both?
Are we saved by faith? Or by works? Or are we saved by both?

Are we saved by faith? Or by works? Or are we saved by both?
The Bible says we’re saved by faith. But then James says that without works, our faith is dead. So then, are we saved by faith and works both?
What would it be like to wake up and find out you’d been in a coma for a year? Paralyzed. Confused. Trying to remember.
Reverend David has an amazing story.
I woke up in a strange room. But hold on, it gets even better. Not only was I in a strange room, but I couldn’t move either. The only muscles I could control were my eyes. But hold on, it gets even better. When I tried to cry out, I discovered I couldn’t talk. But hold on, it gets even better. I had two tubes. One tube that ran from just under my belly button to drain into a bag and the other tube that ran from my lower left side, connecting to a food pump. I had an oxygen hose running to a tracheotomy in my neck.

King Saul consulted a medium and it worked! Therefore, we should be able to consult mediums, too, right?
Back in the Old Testament we see that King Saul consulted a medium. Samuel appeared to them and spoke to Saul. Was this a normal occurrence for the Israelites? Their king consulted a medium and it worked. Should this be a model for us? Is it OK for a Christian to be consulting mediums? Based on the result of Saul’s meeting with the medium (1 Samuel 28:19), we don’t think it’s a good idea (notwithstanding all the other Scripture references directing God’s people to avoid consulting mediums—Leviticus 19:31; 20:6; Deuteronomy 18:9-14; 2 Kings 21:6; 23:24-25; 2 Chronicles 33:6; Isaiah 8:19).
Christmas. Did it stem from a pagan holiday or is it really the birthday of Jesus Christ?
Did Christmas stem from a pagan holiday? Is it true that the Roman Catholics earmarked that day for use as Christ’s birthday to eradicate a pagan holiday already being celebrated on that day? Was Jesus Christ really born on December 25? Does it even matter what day Jesus was really born? Should we celebrate Christmas? These are questions I’ve heard asked about a million times. Here’s our opinion.
The Bible points out significant differences between the Father and the Son.
The Bible is replete with passages making significant distinctions between the Father and the Son. But the Bible also says that the Father and the Son are one and the same. And we also read that there is only one God. So how do we sort this all out?
A poem that succinctly tells the Christmas story. It’s a reminder of where our focus should be during this season.
What’s Christmas really about? Do you remember the real story? So many of us forget as we get caught up in the overwhelming busyness of the season. Let’s stop for a moment and recall the story of the Jesus of the Bible and His arrival on Earth.
Check out Mark’s latest poem. This is good stuff. Who Knows?
Whatever you’ve done, whatever your life experiences—God still loves you. He knows everything about you, and me, and He still accepts us and loves us unconditionally. What a miracle.
A poem by Mark.
Brian’s testimony of how the Jesus of the Bible delivered him from the grasp of drugs and alcohol.
Brian’s testimony really struck me tonight. Maybe because it’s like my own. I know what it’s like to be trapped in an endless circle of sin, seemingly unable to escape. But praise God—He always provides a way out. He loves us and He wants us to return to Him. If you’re ensnared in drugs, or pornography, or any other sin that seems to have you by the throat—don’t despair. Jesus will never give up on You. He started a work in your heart and He will complete it. You might be saying, “Well, God never started a work in my heart so He has nothing to complete!” You can throw that excuse out the window. He brought you here, and you’re about to read Brian’s testimony, so . . .
Don’t condemn me for drinking alcohol!
Drinking alcohol. Is it OK or is it not OK? Here’s what we think.
Here are a few more thoughts on tithing, based on the New Testament.
A site reader reminded us to consider Matthew 23:23 and Luke 11:42 when we speak about tithing. He’s right. We should have mentioned these passages in our original article on tithing.
