Jesus — Is He God? Or Was He Created?

Not too long ago (well OK, I guess it was a long time ago — like five years ago), a reader asked Tim a question about a certain article he had found on a messianic Jewish website. The author’s main idea was that Jesus was a created being, a son of God, and not God Himself. Here’s the article.

Tim wrote a detailed response — a pleasure to read! Check it out.

Comment Guidelines Rationale

We adopted WordPress a few years back in order to streamline the implementation of new content. We also hoped that productive conversations would develop and that the site would become more interactive.

This occurred and then, a couple years ago, Tim passed away. Tim wrote the articles, moderated the more theologically difficult comment conversations and answered the tough questions. Without Tim, the comment conversations spiraled a bit out of control. Authoritative voices arose (and continue to arise) that, at times, did not necessarily agree with Scripture. People started posting phone numbers, email addresses, asking for help with all sorts of deeply personal problems that I’m not qualified to answer . . . In short, I couldn’t keep up.

Because our original intent was simply to share the good news of Jesus Christ to the world and to be a light in a dark place, and not to be a public forum in need of constant moderation, I have decided to curb the comment conversations and simply focus on the content of the site. I still have articles from Tim to post, as well as a myriad of poems and testimonies.

I have also teamed up with a trusted friend from my church who is helping me restore a bit of order to the comment conversations. He may also help answer questions from time to time. He has been a great help to me as we discuss the future of the site. His name is Nathan.

We will still allow comments on the site, but all comments must adhere to the following guidelines. We hope this doesn’t upset anyone and hopefully it will serve to remove any distractions from the Good News we’re attempting to share.

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Ephesians 4:29 (ESV)

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
Colossians 4:6 (ESV)

But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
Colossians 3:8 (ESV)

Hacked! UGH!

Not too long ago (maybe a month?) this site was hacked with a nasty little redirect. I figured out how the nastiness got in and I’ve plugged the security hole and fixed everything up. So if you’ve been trying to visit the site and been redirected to another random website (especially if you’ve been using a mobile device), you can rest assured that the problem has been fixed! And hopefully it won’t happen again. I’ll try to pay better attention and I’m sorry!

To Be Emmanuel – A Poem By Mark

Do you know anyone who lives in captivity to fear? I do. Do you know someone who needs to hear the good news of Jesus Christ? I do. Do you know anyone who needs to be reminded that God is with us, all the time? I do!

Check out Mark’s latest poem — it’s a great reminder that God came to us, died for us, rose again and is with us forever — and we need to share the good news!

Choices, Choices and More Choices

Every minute of every day, we are faced with choices. Have you ever really thought about that? You choose the words you say throughout the day. You choose the foods you eat. You choose what you focus on. You choose whether or not to pray. You choose who to speak to. You choose how fast to drive. You choose to read God’s Word (or not). You choose to play video games, watch TV, spend time with your kids, pet the cat, curse or bless . . . Right now I’m choosing the words I type and I’m choosing to stay up too late. Earlier I chose to swim. Then I chose to snuggle with my daughter. We constantly make choices. Are they the right ones?

Life Is About the Choices We Make

Cancer Isn’t Too Big for God

I have so many testimonies in queue it isn’t even funny. 100? More? They’re just sitting in my inbox, waiting for me to take action. I have testimonies, poems, articles from Tim (wow, I really miss Tim) . . . but as a teacher, husband and father with business ventures on the side as well, working on the site just hasn’t been on my priority list. I hope to make it a priority in 2017.

If you’ve sent in a poem or a testimony, well, I can’t tell you when I’ll get to it. But I’m really hoping to start doing God’s work (with truthsaves) again. It’s important for us to to carry out the Great Commission, whenever we have a chance. I have a chance and it’s time for me to start doing it.

Here’s Jikky’s story. His mom had cancer. The doctors said, “Sorry, it’s too late. Just try to make her comfortable.” Well, just like weather forecasters, sometimes doctors get it wrong. Isn’t it good to know that God’s in control?
