Two Awesome New Christian Poems

Sometimes I wish I had the gift of crafting words to paint a vivid picture . . . but God hasn’t granted that to me. But He’s definitely granted it to others – and you can read the words of some of these gifted authors by clicking on the following links.

What I Could Not Do

Chained to Myself

If you have enjoyed these poems, send in a word of encouragement and specify that it’s for the authors and I’ll forward it on.

Additionally, if you have some poems that portray the goodness of our Great God & Savior Jesus Christ, then send them in! We would love to read your musings and then . . . we can publish them for the world to see. Your words could have a significant impact on someone else’s life.

May God bless you as you seek HIM!

Outline of I Samuel & II Samuel

An overview and outline of the Old Testament books of I Samuel and II Samuel.

I got one more outline formatted and uploaded tonight . . . it’s actually two outlines combined into one.  It’s 1 and 2 Samuel.  Make sure to read the intro, though, and you’ll see why Tim put both of these into one document.  I’ve gotten quite a bit done on truthsaves lately.  Oh, and we can’t forget Tim’s latest article . . . it’s on infant salvation.  Do infants go to heaven when they die?  Is there an age of accountability?

Outline of Judges and Outline of Ruth

Two Old Testament outlines. An outline of Judges and an outline of Ruth.

I just posted a couple of new outlines. I’m trying to get ALL of Tim’s outlines posted as soon as possible, but as you can see, I work pretty slowly. I guess that’s what happens when a person has other priorities, like a wife, a job, a house, pets . . . you know.

Anyway, you can click here to read the Judges outline, and you can click here to read the Ruth outline. These aren’t as detailed as some of Tim’s outlines, but they still provide a brief overview and some insights that you may not have thought of on your own.

Outline of Joshua

An overview and outline of Joshua, an historical Old Testament book.

It’s been a while . . . but I’ve finally posted a new outline. It’s not as detailed as some others, but hopefully someone will find it useful. Thank you, Tim! I’ll be posting Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, and 1 and 2 Chronicles soon. They’re sitting in my inbox right now, simply awaiting my formatting. Again . . . thank you, Tim! May God infuse your life with His love as you continue to seek Him.

Two New Articles

I’ve just recently done a bit of work on my site . . . and I’ve posted two new articles.

The first covers a sensitive question asked by many . . . can women be leaders in the church?  Tim answers this question carefully but doesn’t try to soften the Biblical message.

The second article talks about “first fruits” and what this term means in the Bible.

There are many other articles on this site which answer questions sent in by viewers like yourself. If you have a burning question you want answered, send it in and we’ll send you an answer and possibly post the answer as a new article.

New Testament Outlines

Sometimes it’s nice, when studying the Bible, to get a broad overview of whatever book you’re reading. I’ve just finished compiling a collection of New Testament outlines written by my friend Tim. Tim acquired his masters of divinity from Western Theological Seminary in Portland, Oregon. He pastored a church for almost a decade and his life serves as an example for those who wish to follow Jesus. I feel honored to be able to post these New Testament outlines that he used for his sermons.

These outlines cover every book of the New Testament from Matthew through Revelation. The outlines include a brief overview of the book, followed by the approximate date of authorship, followed by the outline of the book. The last bits of information include the key idea, the key passage, and the key lesson.

For instance, the outline for the New Testament book of Luke begins with pertinent quotes from Eusebius, Irenaeus, Origen, and Clement of Alexandria confirming the authorship of Luke. Tim then states the purpose of the book, and some prominent facts about the book, followed by the date of writing and a detailed outline. It ends with the key idea, the key passage, and the key lesson.

Romans 16

Reading through this last chapter of Romans, as Paul remembers all those dear to him, I start pondering my own life. I’m drawn inward so often. I have friends working on their yards, struggling in their relationships, losing jobs, on drugs . . . and I’m sitting in my office, selling junk on ebay. Sure, I’m making money. Sure, I’m being clever. But am I concerned with others the way Paul was? Do I help my friends in their yards? Do I encourage my friends who are slaves to their addictions? Do I preach the word the way Paul preached it? Do I spend my time worrying about people or do I spend my time worrying about myself and what I want? I think, more often than not, I’m busy with my own interests. I’m busy with what will make me more comfortable, more happy, more secure . . . here is this life anyway. It’s so easy to serve myself. When will I start serving others?

Romans 15

We have an obligation to bear with those who are weak, and not please ourselves. That’s almost verbatim from verse 1. Do I do that? Do I bear with others? Do I do the necessary things to build up others instead of worrying about my own selfish desires? No. I fail in this . . . I fail constantly. When Saturday rolls around, am I out helping people or am I on the computer, listing items on ebay? I fail in so many ways.

There comes a time in life when we have to make a decision. Do we continue ignoring the obvious commands of Scripture and continue to live for ourselves? Do we continue living a lie, or do we start living the truth? Jesus makes it clear that if we love Him, we will do what He commands.

15If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
John 14:15

Do we love Him? If we do, we’ll listen to what the Bible says. We’ll start living to please Him, which means living to bear with others, and not to please ourselves. Simply put – if we’re too busy with our own interests, we’re not doing what He says.

He gave His life for us. It’s our reasonable service to give our lives for Him.
